A checklist you can run this week, in order, without buying anything.
1. The basics, consistent everywhere
- Same business name, address and phone number on the site, the Google profile, invoices and the main directories.
- One canonical domain: pick www or non-www and redirect the other.
- Hours that match reality, including festival closures.
2. The Google Business Profile
- Primary category is the most specific one that describes the main work.
- Services listed with short descriptions, not left empty.
- Ten real photographs: shopfront, interior, team, work.
- Q&A seeded with the questions customers actually ask.
- Every review answered within two working days.
3. The pages
- One page per service you genuinely sell, with the locality mentioned only where it is true.
- No twenty identical pages with the city swapped — that is the most common local SEO mistake in India.
- Each page ends with a phone number, a WhatsApp link and a map or address.
4. The citations
Claim the free listings that matter: Google, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, and the directories your customers actually use. Skip the “1,000 directories” packages.
5. Reviews
Ask at handover, in person, with a short link. Never buy, swap or write reviews yourself. Reply to the bad ones calmly and specifically; every future customer reads that reply.
6. Measure
- Profile: calls, direction requests, website clicks.
- Site: which pages produce calls and forms.
- Search Console: queries containing your locality.
